High up above Hay on Wye as you drive out of the old village, Craswall, there’s a group of trees that always intrigue. Inevitably they have shown up in my art. They feature on a hot summer’s day, with a cloud bank building in the background. The trees almost seem to dance in the sultry heat.
The original painting is an oil and cold wax artwork on paper. The wax allows me to draw into the surface of the painting, giving it an extra energy and rich texture.
