Midsummer, East Brecon Beacons – print

from £135.00

From an edition limited to 50 prints in each size, available as 55cm (22” - large) or 36cm (14” - medium) square.

Fine art print on archival paper of a Welsh Marches landscape painting by Helen Arthur.

When there's been days of constant high temperatures, the landscape seems to radiate sunshine. This is a loose representation of the view just outside Abergavenny as you drive to Hereford. I wanted to convey that feeling of being bathed in warmth and light, when the trees and grassland vibrate with energy.

I worked at speed to layer up acrylic paint in a limited palette, then printed globules of paint onto the early layers to create scrubland and trees. A final hint of pink oil pastel gestures to the wildflower Rosebay Willowherb (also known as 'fireweed') lining the roadside.

  • limited edition print on archival quality paper – find out all about the process that guarantees quality

  • from a painting in acrylic, oil pastel and mixed media on wooden panel

  • unframed print, signed and editioned by Helen

  • contact Helen for a quotation to ship overseas
