If you love to make detailed marks and striking textured images, this is the workshop for you. I always recommend subjects like birds, plants and trees for this form of printmaking. You'll learn how to develop your own etching plate, working with a sharp tool over photographic images under the transparent surface. Then you’ll ink up and take an impression by running it through an etching press under damp paper. Finally, you’ll add a tinted layer to bring colour to your monochrome print.
How it works:
bring ideas and images you like - print out in black and white at 15cm x 10cm - or choose from Helen’s stash
total beginners welcome - you get full support with your design and the techy bit
access quality tools and a press - all materials included
work in a nice-sized group in a fab venue - The Old Picture House in Kington
enjoy the printmakers’ exhibition while you’re there
meet lovely like-minded people in a relaxed setting
Saturday 28 November - arrive 1.20pm for 1.30pm start - clearing up for 4.30pm
