This is a view from near my studio, and as evening drew in the trees cast shadows across overgrown hayfields. It had been a very hot day and my dogs loved the cool grass beneath the trees. For once some sings of human life appear in this work (developed on two framed canvases); the slate of the barns caught my eye in contrast to the golden warmth of the late summer grass.
